Project involves dating geological sediments The Laboratory of Ionic Crystals, Thin Films and Dating at the Physics Institute (IF) at USP offers an opportunity for a one-year postdoctoral fellowship. In the project, dating of geological sediments using LOE (Optically Stimulated Luminescence), TL (Thermoluminescence) and EPR (Spin Paramagnetic Resonance) methods will be carried out on several samples taken from the South and Southeast coast of the Brazilian coast, aiming to understand the formations of terraces , barriers and others in the face of sea level fluctuations in the past. Candidates must have knowledge in the areas of Condensed Matter Physics, Materials Engineering, Radiation Dosimetry, spectroscopic analysis, analytical methods, dating methods and materials.
Testing, as well as experience in dating, radiological protection, laboratory work, work development in groups and guidance. Fluency in English is also required. Interested parties should send the following items to the email postdoclacifid@gmail.com : Two letters of recommendation Simplified one-sheet resume containing the items in this order: Lattes CV name and link (if applicable) Higher educa Whatsapp Number List tion and postgraduate studies (indicate location, date, name of supervisor and name of project) The (five) most significant published works (complete articles, book chapters and/or participation in events); Brief description of personal experience and motivation.Antonio Martins Figueiredo, from the Physics Institute: criticism generated a manifesto | Photo: Marcos Santos/USP Imagens For Professor Antonio Martins Figueiredo, one of the authors of the letter, the BNCC's first proposal has several flaws. “It places elaborate theories and hypotheses on the same level that are limited to an accumulation of facts.
Furthermore, it proposes the teaching of content that even for us, experts in the field, is not clear”. He believes that the document cannot just be revised, it needs to undergo a total reformulation, as there are many changes to be made. According to professor Marcos Garcia Neira, there was an effort for the BNCC to aggregate all the knowledge understood as fundamental. “The Base, like any curriculum, is a selection, so there are views that will not be included in it. The project was carried out with primary school teachers in mind, not specialists”, he points out. Neira clarifies that the BNCC, in itself, does not aim to level education in the country. “If there is not a good teacher training program and policies to improve equipment and working conditions, the Base will not solve everything”, she states. Brazil is the first country with a large territorial dimension and varied cultures to implement a single curricular base, which is why teachers and schools will have autonomy to decide methodologies and forms of student assessment.
